A message from the artist

This work “Moebius” was created because I got deeply influenced by the death of a person close to me and countless people died in Japan Thoku Earthquake and Tsunami.
I have begun to think about what “Death” means deeper than before, and inevitably think about what ”Life” is.
Then I realized that as we have “Life”, we can feel “Death”, and vice versa.
These two things, "'LIFE" and "DEATH" are not conflicting each other, rather existing simultaneously in one’s life.
When this fact and the idea of "Moebius strip" got together inside of my mind, I strongly felt that I want to express this feeling in my sculpture.
Tear drops of the skeleton symbolize death, expressing sorrow on the verge of death. The tears contain a variety of feelings and turn to a big wave and flow to the earth.
Then it moisten the earth and lead the flowers blossom, which symbolize life.
As we live, there always is a change. Sometimes we have to face the change regardless of our will. This might be a message from the earth.
Every day I wonder how I should live in this world which is so chaotic and hard to recognize what is true and what is not true.
To make a change or stay unchanged, courage is required in any case.
I will try to live faithfully to the voice in my heart, by expressing what I feel and think in the form of sculptures, drawings and paintings.
