' A ransel boy '
yarn on concrete wall, Icchoba, 2006
This is the first my art work drawn on the scenes of Naoshima. I created this work with the respect for Naoshima as a visitor loving ART. Contemporary Art and Life have a very close relation here. Besides, Naoshima has the action to regain relations with the history and the nature. I feel a hope. That's why I draw a child looks up. " Ransel " is Duch language, means the backpack often used by elementary shoolchildren. A little girl asked me, " Is this child me ? " That's also correct, I think. And also an old woman said, " I think he is my grandson." ' A ransel boy ' seems to have gotten to be familiar for people of this town.
