A message from the artist:
I am currently exhibiting at two different venues in Niigata, for “Water and Land -Niigata Art Festival 2012-” and “Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2012”. Both works are featuring sceneries of Niigata prefecture. However,it is quite impressive that they are showing totally different aspects of Niigata.
One is featuring a town by the Shinano River, with traditional houses, which has a long history of river transport.
The other is featuring a small village surrounded by mountains, where thatched houses still remain with beautiful scenery of terraced rice-fields in summer and heavy snow in winter.
I could get strong power to create works through the interaction with local people.
The landscape paintings I create are usually displayed at exhibition venues like galleries and museums which are not associated with the sceneries featured in the paintings. However, in these exhibitions, I was able to showcase the sceneries on the site or close to the venue.
Both exhibitions in Niigata are the exhibitions that can only be possible and seen at the sites.
Please kindly come to have a look at them if you are happen to be around these area.
