A's residence locates at the flat plain Kanto Heiya.
There is just a small green land in front of this house,
and a public green space with Sakura is across the roads.
The straight old road and new one intersect in a narrow X shape.
Side note, it takes about 30 or 40 minutes for Studio Ghibli by bicycle.
The roof of the garage is covered with grass.
And the natural light is brought from the courtyard to each room.
The design of this architecture has a strong awareness of the relationship with the sky.
I've felt something comfortable runs through even the solid wall guards this residence.
This feeling is the concept of this work.

when I visited A's residence, I knew that
it wasn't only A's family who had been looking forward to
the construction of the new house would finish,
but the people in the neighborhood and delivery person, too.
To tell the truth, the mission to draw the work directly on the new house had made me nervous.
However the people passing by often spoke to me with a smile while I was making the work.
That's why I found I was already welcomed though I had never visited this town before.
I was so glad.
So I could enjoy the creation with a live feeling.
It turned out much better more than I had imagined.
