A message from the Artist:

I used to think that “I want to create something cool.” But the more I try it, the more it lost its taste. At the end, my art was still expressed as warm and relaxing and not “cool”.

I had a surgery last year. At the time, I wondered “what kind of painting or sculpture would people want to see when they feel weak.” I personally imagined a light in a calm environment. Something warm and peaceful. It is not that I have been creating destructive art in the past, but I felt more strongly about wanting to create an art with warmth…something people can feel that it is on their side in their life.

This time gave me an opportunity to redefine where I stand as an artist, and I came to a realization that warm and peaceful is the theme I want to create. I want to cheer up people and make them feel warm inside. After the thoughts came through my mind, with my friends’ help, I destroyed all the “cool” and tasteless art that I made in the past.

This series is a motif of human’s face and image that I have been engaged on for a while. The way of making this art is traditional and also its size is small. In the aspect, nothing is surprising or overwhelms the viewer. However, I believe I can express and convey the warmth and strength through this art work.

When I am making the art with theme of warmth, there is still feeling of loneliness. That is the time I would like to hear from the audience who enjoy my artwork. I would like to hear from you.
